AMERIND Risk Management Corporation
AMERIND was created in 1986 by its member tribes that are the exclusive owners; AMERIND is a self-insurance risk pool operation that represents 400+ Native American Tribes and Alaska Native Villages. In May 2004, AMERIND obtained the section 17 Federal corporation approval and located offices on Santa Ana Pueblo, one of our sponsoring tribes. Reservation to reservation financial transactions are both federal and state tax exempt and bypass state insurance regulation. This strategic business planning helps to keep operating costs lower than traditional insurance and benefits our members and affiliates. Sovereign Immunity is preserved amoung the membership and not waived to non-tribal businesses.

AMERIND identifies, creates, and manages affordable and sustainable self-insurance programs, products or services that protect housing, government infrastructure, economic enterprises, and people within Indian communities using financially responsible business practices that are culturally sensitive and flexible in meeting customer needs.
