GENERAL MANAGER OF GOVERNMENTAL OPERATIONS
Our client, a federally recognized Indian Tribe, has an exciting opportunity for a decisive and analytical General Manager of Governmental Operations. The Tribe is located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, in the northwest portion of Washington State, with easy access to the Cascade Mountains, and the San Juan Islands. This is a rare opportunity to live in a beautiful part of the country and have a challenging career.
This position is responsible for overseeing all governmental operations of the Tribe. The General Manager will utilize their listening and communication skills while working cooperatively with Tribal Council and department directors to fulfill the direction, responsibilities, goals and objectives of the Tribal Council.
Duties and responsibilities include oversight of grant and contract project development, project feasibility, cost analysis, compliance monitoring, as well as organizational growth and development. The General Manager is responsible for governmental departments, operations, board and committees, including administration, programmatic, and fiscal matters.
Successful candidate will have a BA/BS degree in business, public administration, accounting or closely related field. Must have 5 consecutive years of management experience in an organization with gross revenue in excess of $10M. Tribal Government experience a plus, but not required. Must have prior experience working with property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, contract management, investment management, risk management, staff supervision, and boards. Solid understanding of fund accounting, excellent written and oral communication skills a must. Strong problem solving skills and ability to build community relations will take you far.
