DEADLINE TODAY – Comments on the Licensed Indian Traders Regulations

October 30, 2017

Comments on the Department of the Interior’s (DOI) effort to modernize Indian trade and commerce (Licensed Indian Traders) are due today.

Make sure your tribe's voice is heard on this critical issue. Add your tribe’s support to NAFOA's comments by sending a letter or email to DOI or send an email stating your support in modernizing the Licensed Indian Traders regulations. Indian Country makes America’s economy stronger and deserves the right to self-determination, self-governance, and certainty in tax jurisdiction in regards to economic activity.

Tribes are involved in virtually every industry and sector - making the economy stronger and creating new employment opportunities. Nafoa’s Licensed Indian Trader comments direct DOI to establish regulations that empower tribal governments to develop regulations and codes to regulate and enforce trade within their lands and enjoy the universal governmental rights of trade, commerce, and taxing authority.
