House Passes Tax Extenders
December 17, 2015
The “tax extenders” bill was approved in a 318-109 vote, with 241 Republicans joining 77 Democrats backing the measure. The White House has signaled support for both the tax extenders and the omnibus bill, and the Senate is expected to approve them before the end of the week —likely after combining them into one package. Included in the tax package are the Indian Tax Extenders, which are designed to incentivize direct investment in projects on Indian lands and the hiring of Indian people. These tax credits provide crucial incentives to level the playing field for future development and protect the economic viability of existing projects.
