NAFOA hosted a tribal leader discussion with the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance. The tribal leadership discussion covered timely topics including tax reform, oversight on the implementation of the General Welfare Exclusion Act, provisions commonly referred to as "Indian Extenders" within the Expiring Provisions Improvement Reform and Efficiency Act, and other Indian issues. The purpose of this meeting was for the Finance Committee staff to gain valuable insight from tribal leaders and to discuss the next steps regarding tribal government tax and finance issues.
