Scholarship Manager

The Scholarships Manager is an integral part of the Student Success Services Team that administers scholarship and other student support programs to fulfill a core mission of the American Indian College Fund – offering students access to knowledge, skills, and cultural values that enhance their education, their communities, their careers and the country. The Scholarships Manager manages and administers the TCU and Full Circle Scholarship programs, leads scholarship recruitment efforts and supervises the Scholarships Coordinator. In addition, the Manager assists the Student Success Services Team in the overall administration of all scholarships and other student success programs and represents the College Fund at various marketing/recruitment events. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Manages the TCU Scholarship Program disbursement process
  • Oversees the Scholarships Coordinator in the disbursement of TCU Program scholarship funds. Verifies appropriate disbursements through consideration of tribal college program details and donor criteria
  • Audits TCU Scholarship Program recipient data from the tribal colleges for timeliness and accuracy on an ongoing basis.  Investigates and resolves all issues in a timely manner through negotiations with the tribal colleges
  • Develops excellent working relationships with financial aid representatives and other staff at tribal colleges and interprets policies and operating practices as needed
  • Provides to Resource Development staff, timely and accurate donor reports for the TCU Scholarship Program based on identified deadlines
  • Represents the College Fund at various marketing/recruitment events such as conferences, TCU visits, high schools, and other Native American events

  • Manages the Full Circle Scholarship Program
  • Annually creates timeline and implements the Full Circle Scholarship awarding and disbursement process
  • Performs all duties required to ensure that Full Circle Scholarship Program funds are completely and accurately awarded in a timely manner and according to Fund policy and donor requirements
  • Coordinate with SSS team members to ensure that Full Circle scholarship recipients are being identified for appropriate internal or external career readiness and academic success opportunities
  • Manages Full Circle scholarship budgets
  • Provides timely and accurate donor reports for the Full Circle Scholarship Program to Resource Development staff based on deadlines provided by Resource Development
  • Collaborates with Resource Development Teams to create reasonable and realistic donor requirements and program components of Full Circle scholarships
  • Collaborates with Resource Development, Finance and Student Success Services Director to evaluate program efficiencies in reporting, awarding, and disbursement to develop better policies and practices.

  • Leads scholarship recruitment efforts in order to obtaining an adequate pool of American Indian students to award all available Full Circle Scholarship funds accurately and timely
  • Works with the Student Engagement & Communications Manager to create a yearly recruitment plan to increase awareness of the Full Circle scholarships and the application process
  • Represents the College Fund at various marketing/recruitment events such as conferences, TCU visits, high schools, and other Native American events

  • Leads Scholarship Donor Stewardship and development
  • Coordinates and collaborates with Resource Development to examine current scholarship program efficiencies and areas for opportunity to steward existing donors
  • Serves as team lead in donor proposal development for scholarship programs

  • Leads scholarship database administration
  • Provides technical support for students, tribal college staff, and College Fund staff on the scholarship database
  • Reports technical issues with the scholarship database to the Director of Student Success Services
  • Recommends enhancements to the scholarship database for gathering, tracking and reporting data

  • Supports SSS programs
  • Works regularly with staff responsible for other areas (e.g. career readiness, coaching, grants)
  • Assists in general office support (calls, emails, mailings) as needed
  • Assists with programs, events and as a student chaperon as needed
  • Completes other duties as assigned


Job Requirements


  • Proficient IT skills particularly with databases and Microsoft Office products

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree

Experience working in a college or university student services area, especially in a tribal college

Experience working with American Indian/Alaska Native or other underrepresented student populations

Work Environment and Physical Activities 

Professional office setting

  • Willingness to travel extensively during certain periods
  • Ability to travel via car and plane

Frequent keyboarding

Lifting up to 35 pounds

Salary:  $60,000 to $65,000 annually
