“The reason why I decided to pursue a career in Investment Banking is that I want to be
able to think strategically. Being a banker allows you to think bigger, and it gives you the
necessary skills for helping businesses grow. One of my dreams is to help other indigenous
families and communities realize their potential.”
Ariel is a first-generation Native Inca junior at the Gies College of Business pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance. I attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and I will be interning at William Blair next summer with their Investment Banking department. This past semester, Ariel was part of the investment portfolio organization at his school and learned how to value a company and conduct financial analysis. His general interest in business stemmed from working with his parents at Powwows. Since his parents work as vendors, Ariel has had the opportunity to attend and connect with Native communities throughout the United States.
