1. ADVOCACY: NAFOA FILES AMICUS BRIEF IN SUPPORT OF SAN CARLOS APACHE AND NORTHERN ARAPAHO TRIBES
| Aligned with its dedication to furthering tribal rights and economic empowerment, NAFOA filed an amicus brief in the Supreme Court in support of the San Carlos Apache and Northern Arapaho Tribes regarding contract support costs, how they are controlled, and the impact they have on Tribes’ ability to carry out transferred federal healthcare programs. |
“As legal counsel for the Northern Arapaho Tribe in the pending US Supreme Court contract support costs case, I can say unequivocally that the NAFOA amicus brief that was filed in the case is a terrific brief that will help the Court better understand the complex issues at stake, and will increase the chances that the Court will ultimately decide the issues in favor of the tribal position, which could result in over one billion dollars being added to tribal health programs nationally. Thank you very much to everyone at NAFOA for this wonderful contribution to the case!”

4. FOR TRIBES:
UPCOMING DEADLINES FOR TRIBAL STATE AND LOCAL FISCAL RECOVERY FUNDS

The IRF addresses the definition of an “obligation” in regard to spending SLFRF, as well as certain deadlines for the obligation of those funds.
