Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 06-08-2022
Last Update: 12-29-2025

Welcome to NAFOA.org. By using this website (the “Site”), you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please review these terms carefully. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not use this Site.

1. Content Usage

NAFOA provides content for informational purposes only. Users are welcome to share content from the Site, provided it is not modified without prior written consent from NAFOA. Redistribution of materials, alteration of content, or use of NAFOA’s materials for commercial purposes is prohibited unless explicit permission is granted.

2. Fee-Based Services

NAFOA offers fee-based services, including Jobs Board postings, Institute Program Fees, Sponsorships, and related packages. Payments are processed through nafoa.org/shop and its subpages.

  • Refunds are available for incorrect payments or if a job posting is not approved by NAFOA’s team. Job postings are typically reviewed within 5–7 business days or sooner; however, review times may be longer during holidays, NAFOA conferences, office closures, or other busy periods. NAFOA reserves the right to extend review times and decide on refunds at its discretion.
  • For Sponsorship packages and Institute Program Fees, cancellation and refund policies may differ. Please review specific terms associated with those agreements and programs.

3. Job Board

NAFOA’s Job Board is an exclusive feature available to registered users. Only one user per entity is preferred, but not required. If an employee leaves an organization, NAFOA cannot share that user’s information with the employer. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login information and must inform NAFOA of any unauthorized use of their account.

The Job Board is designed for positions in accounting, finance, banking, investments, grants management, Tribal governance, and related fields. Requests to post about other types of roles will be evaluated at NAFOA’s discretion. Job postings that are not relevant to the NAFOA audience may be denied. Paid postings will be refunded; free postings will not be approved. All submissions are subject to verification.

Job postings do not go live automatically. NAFOA strives to review submissions as quickly as possible, but please allow 5–7 business days for review and publication. Review times may be longer during NAFOA conferences, office closures, or holidays.

Member Posting Conditions:

  • Member Tribes (including their Tribally-owned entities) and corporate partners/sponsors who have committed within the past year are eligible for free postings on the NAFOA Job Board. Please contact info@nafoa.org for more instructions.

  • Member Tribes and Sponsors receive priority consideration for a highlighted listing on the Job Board, inclusion in NAFOA’s weekly newsletter, and promotion on NAFOA’s social media channels. Featuring is not guaranteed.

  • Member submissions are included in the NAFOA newsletter in the order they are received. Due to the high volume of submissions, some may expire before being featured in the newsletter. To guarantee placement, consider purchasing a Featured Package.

  • NAFOA retains discretion over which Member submissions are designated as “Featured”. Submissions that do not strongly align with the purpose of the NAFOA Job Board may be demoted as regular postings or rejected.

  • By submitting a Member Job Listing, you acknowledge that the system may require payment information to process your order. Use of an applicable coupon code will waive any fees, and no charge will be applied to your account if the coupon is valid.

By submitting a job posting, users acknowledge and agree that all aspects of approval, placement, and publication are at NAFOA’s sole discretion, and refunds, if applicable, will be handled accordingly.

4. Privacy Policy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

5. Communication and Consent

By providing your email address through membership, sponsorship, email subscriptions, webinar and virtual meeting registrations, conference and event registrations, forum registrations, and/or Institute program applications and registrations, you consent to receive communications from NAFOA. These communications may include alerts, promotions, information about NAFOA events, newsletters, stories, fundraising appeals, feedback requests, surveys, and other updates about NAFOA programs, products, and services.

Designated representatives of Member Tribes or sponsors may provide additional contacts. By doing so, the representative confirms that these individuals have consented to receive the communications described above, though each recipient may opt out at any time.

This includes, but is not limited to, damages resulting from mistakes, interruptions, deletion of files, or delays in operation or transmission.

10. Governing Law

The laws of the Reno Sparks Indian Colony govern these Terms and Conditions. Any claims, disputes, or controversies arising out of or relating to these Terms and Conditions or your use of the Site must first be submitted to binding mediation before pursuing any court action. The mediation shall be conducted under the Commercial Mediation Procedures of the American Arbitration Association or another mutually agreed upon mediation service.

Any claims against NAFOA brought by entities that are not Federally Recognized Indian Tribes, following the completion of required mediation, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the tribal courts of the Reno Sparks Indian Colony, where NAFOA is incorporated, or in the absence of tribal court jurisdiction, the federal or state courts located within the territorial boundaries of the Reno Sparks Indian Colony. Claims against NAFOA brought by Federally Recognized Indian Tribes, following the completion of required mediation, may be brought in any court of competent jurisdiction as determined by the bringing Tribe.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions constitutes or should be construed to constitute a waiver of sovereign immunity for any Federally Recognized Indian Tribe using the NAFOA Site. The rights and immunities of Federally Recognized Indian Tribes are expressly preserved and protected. By accessing or using the Site, non-tribal entities consent to the jurisdiction provisions set forth above. Federally Recognized Indian Tribes’ use of the Site does not constitute consent to jurisdiction in any particular forum except as they may expressly choose to submit to jurisdiction in any legal proceeding they initiate.

NAFOA reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of the Site after any changes are made constitutes acceptance of those changes.
