Marisa Joseph serves as NAFOA’s Policy Specialist, playing a crucial role in advancing tribal economies and strengthening tribal finance through research, analysis, and advocacy at the federal level.
Marisa is an enrolled member of the Tulalip Tribes of Washington. She graduated from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Native American and Indigenous studies and a minor in Government. Before joining NAFOA, she was a Dartmouth’s Tribal Services and Solutions fellow working for the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Native Americans and Strengthening Tribal Colleges and Universities at the U.S. Department of Education. Her work as a fellow focused on supporting and advancing tribal communities, and she is committed to continuing that work at NAFOA.
