Bettina serves as NAFOA’s Director of Communications and Digital Engagement, overseeing the organization’s communication and media outreach efforts. Prior to her role as Director, Bettina served as a Specialist and Consultant for NAFOA, assisting in both communications work and the NAFOA Institute’s youth programs.

Bettina graduated from Trinity College as a Questbridge Scholar with a B.S. in Psychology and Film Studies.  After graduating, she was selected as a Newman’s Own Foundation Fellow and worked with the Center for Native American Youth (CNAY) at The Aspen Institute. In her role as Fellow then Program Associate at the Aspen Institute, Bettina developed resources and platforms for Native American youth, including launching the inaugural State of Native Youth Report and managing President Obama’s Generation Indigenous National Native Youth Network. Her work with Native youth fueled her passion for serving Indian Country, supporting indigenous communities, and re-connecting back to her Filipino roots.
