3. POLICY ALERT:
The Treasury Tribal Advisory Committee (TTAC) to Hold First Public Meeting of 2026
On April 23, 2026, the Treasury Tribal Advisory Committee (TTAC) will convene its first public meeting of 2026 at the U.S. Department of the Treasury in Washington, D.C.
The meeting will be held both virtually and in person in the Cash Room 2121 at the Main Treasury Building from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Registration will close on April 16th at 5:00 p.m. ET.

Strengthening Tribal Tax Assistance Programs: VITA & TCE Grant Overview and Application Instructions
Thursday, April 30th, 2026 at 2:00 PM ET
This webinar provides an overview of the IRS’s free tax preparation programs: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE).
Participants will learn basic information on how local tribal communities can create their own free tax preparation sites to serve their local community.
Additionally, attendees will receive important information about the upcoming grant application period, which opens on May 1, 2026.

5. JOB OPPORTUNITY:
Chief Financial Officer, Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians
The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for directing all financial and accounting functions of the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians Tribal Government and its subordinate, non-gaming entities (as may be temporarily assigned at times). The CFO will work with the CEO and Tribal Council to develop and implement an overall financial strategy to maintain and enhance the financial health of the Tribe. Creates and ensures compliance with the Tribal Fiscal Policies and Ordinances.
The CFO will manage the Finance Department to ensure that all audits, budgets, monthly and annual financial reports, financial administration of grants, and other accounting functions are timely and accurately completed. The CFO must be highly knowledgeable about generally accepted accounting principles GAAP/GASB.
