The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is hosting two identical webinars to discuss and review federal tax responsibilities for non-employee payments for tribes and tribal entities scheduled from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Eastern Time on November 6th and 13th.
The webinars will cover basic information for accounts payable employees and those responsible for filing Forms 1099 and Form 945. Registration is required to attend.

Tribal Consultation: Tribal General Welfare Exclusion Act NPRM
The U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury) and IRS are scheduling consultations on the recently issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for the implementation of section 139E of the Internal Revenue Code, created by the Tribal General Welfare Exclusion Act.
Consultations will be held on each November 18th, 19th, and 20th and written comments must be received by December 17th. You can choose to attend one or more of the sessions.
