4. Accounting: GASB Infrastructure Assets Field Test
The Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) invites you to participate in a field test of the note disclosures proposed in Preliminary Views, Infrastructure Assets. The primary objective of the proposed disclosures is to enhance the relevance of information provided to financial statement users.
Field tests are part of the GASB’s due process activities and help the GASB to establish effective standards.
The GASB would like to gather feedback related to the proposed note disclosures on infrastructure assets from preparers of government financial statements on (1) potential implementation difficulties, (2) the costs associated with the initial and ongoing implementation of the proposed note disclosures, and (3) whether any of the proposed note disclosures are unclear.
Participants would be expected to complete and return the field test by August 20, 2025.
Please email GASB Senior Project Manager Scott Reeser at sareeser@gasb.org if you are willing to participate or if you have any questions.
