The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of Finance, Purchasing, and Warehouse functions. This role ensures the integrity, transparency, and performance of all financial operations while advancing the Corporation’s long-term growth and sustainability.

The CFO partners closely with the Board of Directors, Nation leadership, and senior management to provide financial insight, drive strategic initiatives, and maintain strong fiscal governance aligned with the Corporation’s mission and regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Financial Stewardship:

  • Develop and execute financial strategies that align with corporate goals and long-term growth.
  • Advise the Board of Directors and senior leadership on financial planning, capital structure, and investment opportunities.
  • Lead strategic planning efforts, including expansion, development, and acquisition initiatives.
  • Financial Operations & Reporting
  • Oversee all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate issuance of internal and external financial reports and regulatory filings.
  • Monitor financial performance, liquidity, and compliance with debt covenants.

Budgeting & Performance Management:

  • Establish and manage departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with performance and profitability goals.
  • Analyze financial results and provide actionable recommendations to improve outcomes.
  • Oversee capital expenditure planning and operational budget programs.
  • Governance, Compliance & Controls
  • Ensure compliance with all internal controls, policies, and procedures, as well as Federal, State, and Seneca Nation regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee development and adherence to financial, purchasing, and warehouse procedures.
  • Coordinate internal certifications and maintain strong audit readiness.

Stakeholder & Investor Relations

  • Maintain strong relationships with investors, analysts, and rating agencies.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial insights while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for the Board, Nation Council, and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across Finance, Purchasing, and Warehouse.
  • Evaluate management performance and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Corporate Leadership & Governance:

  • Serve on key committees including Compensation Committee, SARC, Credit, and CTR.
  • Support public relations efforts, including financial messaging and press materials.
  • Negotiate and manage corporate financing requirements

Qualifications:

  • Proven executive leadership experience as a CFO or senior financial leader in a complex organization (gaming, hospitality, or regulated industries preferred).
  • Strong expertise in financial strategy, capital markets, and regulatory compliance.
  • A detailed knowledge of, and experience in developing casino and hotel internal and accounting controls, policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements is required.
  • Demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams and driving organizational growth.
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors, investors, and governmental or sovereign entities is highly valued.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; CPA, MBA, or advanced degree preferred.
